Select

The inspiration behind the pieces in the Select collection comes from far and wide. Art, music, books, poems, conversations, dreams, fashion, science fiction, architecture, people, shadows these are the things I am inspired and influenced by, the things that speak directly to the soul. I take inspiration from somewhere with the hope of taking it somewhere new.

Clients who buy jewels from Select do so because the design, the story behind its creation, the stones or the hidden meanings, resonates with them. Each bespoke piece takes about 6 weeks to make by hand, in London, but the emotion and memories that are attached last much longer. This collection truly reflects my belief that jewellery can be enduring, collectible and an heirloom of the future.

The idea for the 'Dark Star' diamond pendant, was conceived when I was shown old war medals. I chose to use a magnificent 3.0ct fancy cognac coloured diamond as the centre piece and I couldn't help but morph together the feeling of the old war medals with a giant battle station from the film Star Wars - The Death Star, capable of annihilating the world in less than a second. A small Mother-of-Pearl bottle inspired the 'Caged Lemon Tear' pendant, set with a central fancy intense yellow diamond. It was Victorian, with a small cork stopper and I was told that the bottle was used to catch the tears of a newborn child.
