Buying an engagement ring feels like a big deal, and so it should, but it doesn't need to feel intimidating. Let Jessica, our very own bridal guru, help answer some of those 'big deal' questions.
Where do I start?
Come and talk to us. We’re not scary, promise! Some clients come in knowing exactly what they want, and that’s fine. Others come in admitting they have no idea where to start – also totally fine! Our expert in-house team will encourage you to touch and try as many jewels as possible, explore different diamond options, discuss customisation and bespoke ideas, and guide you towards your perfect ring. How much should I spend?
I hate the three-months-salary rule – only you know how much you can spend and how much you want to spend. Of course, we can source a million-pound, D-flawless, 10 carat diamond for a bespoke ring, but we also have adorable Button Back diamond solitaire rings from £2,500. Me and my team are here to talk through the options with you, whatever your budget is.
How do I choose something timeless?
My designs are all infused with an antique sensibility, even if it’s not immediately obvious, so they really don’t date. However, I do feel that timelessness comes from classic settings, like simple solitaires, or a central stone with ‘shoulders’ either side. But not all brides want timeless. Some want something totally original and unusual.
What should I be looking for in a stone?
I always say respect the four Cs when it comes to diamonds; carat (weight), clarity (how clear it is), cut (the shape) and colour (how white it is) – but pay the most attention to what we call the fifth C,
character (quite simply, regardless of technicalities, how the diamond makes you feel).

What are the JM options?
Endless! You can come in and choose one from our bridal range, have one made demi-bespoke in which you choose the stone and setting from existing designs, or go full bespoke where I create a new design especially for you.
